Today I am reminded of just how much of a blessing we receive when we take care of what God has given into our possession - this is true for our physique, physical possessions and any place in which we may be placed.
This was true for Aaron when God appointed him and his family to take care of the tabernacle. He was required to take care of it also in the form of maintenance - fixing broken things, as well as generally cleaning it.
At first glance, we may assume this to be a pretty unpleasing job to have to do. But it was within this very job that Aaron was given, that he would be blessed with all the first-fruits that Israelites would sacrifice to God; in other words, he and his family were given permission to take ownership and consume everything that was presented to God.
This is pretty powerful, as it's really such a reminder of the importance of not taking for granted even those little unpleasant responsibilities - all the way from our personal hygiene, to our bedroom, to the way in which we do our work in the workplace or school.
Do we do all these tasks diligently? Because, whether we realise it or not, this is where I blessing lies.
