If you will have enough faith to take the first step - even when you don't see the whole path, and even when you don't understand how you can possibly complete the full path - then God will meet you there.

He will not only meet you there, but He will also show you the next step, and the next and then the next. Soon enough you will look behind you and realise just how far you've gone.

It's in the same manner that Elisha asked the widow what she had at her disposal (2 Kings 4:2). She believed she had nothing that could assist her to solve her troubles, but as an afterthought, remembered that she actually had jars of olive oil in her house. She was then instructed to go to all her neighbours and collect as many jars as possible in order to fill them with oil.

When she arrived at her household and started pouring the oil into the jars, the oil didn't stop flowing into the jars until she ran out of jars.

Now imagine if she had only taken 5 jars instead rather than 50, that is how much oil she would have received. How often do we find ourselves in situations where we want things to happen, but we are not willing to take the first step to move closer towards achieving it? How often would we rather just sit around and hope that somehow things will fall into place by themselves?

Today I was reminded that it's in taking the first step that God is able to meet us and supply our need.
